10 Days Later, Search Continues For Missing West Chester U. Prof

It's been ten days since West Chester University professor Tom Short was last seen.

WEST CHESTER, PA -- Ten days later, the search continues for missing West Chester University professor Tom Short.

Family members of the statistics professor confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that he still has not been seen. University Heights Police in Ohio said there is no evidence of foul play in his disappearance.

Short had traveled to Ohio, where his family lives, shortly before Thanksgiving. He had planned to have dinner with his family in the town of Beachwood on Nov. 22, but did not show up, sparking the search.

Short has not reached out to his family since going missing. According to social media posts from his family, Short's vehicle, suitcase, and phone were found at the hotel where he was staying in Orange Village, Ohio, but he never picked up a key at his room.

His sister said that a receipt for a grocery store was also found amongst his belongings, dated Sunday, Nov. 18.

Family members urged the public to continue to share Short's story, in hopes that someone will have seen him. "Put more kindness and love out into the world, whether it's small ways or big ways, and treat each other with respect and compassion," his daughter, Kathy Short, wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday morning.

Short stands 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has short brown and gray hair and blue eyes.
