3 Cops Injured, 1 Victim Dead After Crash In Chester County

One victim was killed and three police officers were injured in an incident in Chester County over the weekend.

WEST BRANDYWINE, PA -- One victim was killed and three police officers were injured in an incident in Chester County over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday, March 30 on the 600 block of East Reeceville Road in West Brandywine.

Two cars were involved in the crash, which led to the driver of one of the cars, a woman from West Caln, to be knocked unconscious. As she was knocked out, her vehicle went up in flames, authorities said.

West Brandywine Township police officers that arrived on the scene, along with East Brandywine Fire Company firefighters and passerbys, went into the burning wreck to rescue the woman.

Three police officers sustained smoke inhalation injuries trying to rescue the woman. However, she passed away from her injuries, police said.

The injured cops were taken to Paoli Hospital for treatment and were released later on Saturday night.

The driver of the second vehicle was also treated at Paoli Hospital.
