4 Victims Of Fatal West Chester Fire Identified

Breaking: The four victims of the catastrophic fire at West Chester's Barclay Friends Senior Living Center have been identified.

WEST CHESTER, PA — The four victims of the catastrophic fire at West Chester's Barclay Friends Senior Living Center have been identified, the Chester County Coroner's Office confirmed on Tuesday.

Among the victims were 92-year-old Delores G. Parker and 88-year-old Thomas F. Parker, who were husband and wife. Two other women, Mildred E. Gadde, Theresa J. Malloy, have also been confirmed dead.

All four victims died from smoke inhalation, according to the coroner.

Authorities are still working to determine the cause and origin of the five-alarm fire, which devastated the home at around 10:45 p.m. on Nov. 16. Crews were at the scene for days following the blaze, working with cranes and other equipment to sift through the rubble for clues, but they are no longer there, officials said. The investigation has no shifted to laboratory work, interviews, and other investigations.

A total of 137 residents and 15 staff members were inside the home when the blaze began. First responders and neighbors rushed into the flames to rescue 133 of those residents.

Investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco (ATF) are joined by the Chester County District Attorney's Office, Chester County Fire Marshal's Office, Pennsylvania State Police, West Chester Police Department, Chester County Sheriff's Office and Chester County Department of Emergency Services on the investigation.

The ATF will hold a press conference on Thursday with further details.
