WEST CHESTER, PA — An extreme heat warning was issued in Chester County Wednesday as dangerously high humidity moves through the region.
The heat index could rise to 103 over the coming days.
“Extreme heat can pose a health risk to anyone, but it’s especially dangerous for older adults, infants, individuals experiencing homelessness, people who work outside, pregnant women, and those with health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and sickle cell disease," Chester County Health Department Director Jeanne Franklin said in a statement.

The county says that residents who don't have air conditioning should seek relief at a cooling center like a community pool, library, or senior center. A full list of Chester County cooling centers is available online here.
Residents can also call 211, or text their zip code to 898-211, for additional housing or cooling assistance from Human Needs Network of Chester County.
