Bam Margera Arrested, Lands In Chester County Prison

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County native and former star of "Jackass" on MTV, Bam Margera, has been arrested and imprisoned after police said he violated his parole during a drunk driving incident, according to multiple reports.

The violation comes after he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in June after a physical confrontation with his brother and other family members last year. Margera, 44, was sentenced to six months probation at the time, court records show.

The Inquirer and NBC 10 report that he was arrested in Fulton County in south-central Pennsylvania on Sept. 16 for driving under the influence and reckless driving. He was taken into custody and sent to prison in Chester County. It's not clear how long he will spend behind bars. His next hearing is slated for Monday, according to court documents.

In a statement to the Philadelphia Inquirer, his attorneys, Adam Leasure, Michael T. van der Veen, and William J. Brennan, said “there are no pending charges filed.”

The confrontation with his brother and other family members initially led to charges to assault, though that was dropped as part of his eventual guilty plea in June.

At the time, Margera's family expressed hopes that Bam would get the help he needed.

"It's the constant death threats against my parents and other family members that I'm not just gonna sit there and tolerate," his brother Jesse Margera wrote on social media after last year's incident. "He is a danger to himself and anyone around him and that is unacceptable."

Known for his tricks and pranks as a professional skateboarder and stunt man, Margera grew up in West Chester and owns a home in the borough in addition to his residence in Pocopson Township.
