Homes real estate sales in the Main Line up 2.6 percent in 2015 Q1

Homes sales in the Chester County increased with 1,092 homes sold in the first quarter of 2015, up 7.9 percent from 1,1012 homes sold in the first quarter of 2014. Median home prices decreased 1.8 percent to $280,000 in the first quarter of 2015, compared to the median sale price of the first quarter of 2014, which stood at $285,000.
The average number of days a home remained on the market decreased 11.3 percent from 80 days in the first quarter of 2014 to 86 days in the first quarter of 2015.

West Chester Borough
Property sales in West Chester during the first quarter of 2015 increased 12.6 percent from previous year.

According to a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach HomExpert Market Report, there were 116 properties that closed in Q1, compared with 103 from the year before. In 2012 that number was 87.
The median price of the properties that sold in Q1 increased 0.7 percent over the same period in 2014, from $268,000 to $270,000. In 2013, the median price was $270,000. The average days on the market increased by 1.2 percent from 86 to 87 days between 2014 and 2015.
