Borough Council Will Hold a Special Meeting Monday Night

For the last several months a development team led by Eli Kahn has been working to develop the property into an apartment complex.
Residents near the property have objected to an apartment complex being built and argue that the borough is violating its own zoning rules.

According to residents the property should be zoned residential while the borough contends that it is zoned as town center.
Depending on the zoning, Kahn would not be allowed to construct the building as planned because it violates the residential zone's height limit.

However, borough council has approved the plan as it is currently zoned, and the residents near the property have appealed that decision in court.
Kahn and his development team are asking the borough to confirm their original ruling so that the plan can go forward.
All of this will be discussed at tomorrow night's meeting along with an ordinace to vacate Old Downingtown Pike between Route 322 and Strasburg Road.
