West Chester Resident Launches 'Team Brian Wilson' to Honor Musical Legend

West Chester resident Katherine Webb has announced the formation of Team Brian Wilson, a community-driven fundraising initiative dedicated to the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The team seeks to bridge the gap between music appreciation and health advocacy by honoring the legendary musical genius of Brian Wilson while raising critical funds for Alzheimer’s research and caregiver support. Inspired by Wilson’s resilience and his profound impact on the "California Sound," Webb launched
the team to mobilize local music fans in Pennsylvania and beyond. Team Brian Wilson is currently recruiting walkers and sponsors for the upcoming focus walks in Lancaster on September 26, 2026, and in Philadelphia later this fall.
“Music is a powerful tool for memory and connection,” says Webb, a music historian and long time fan of over twenty years. “By walking under the banner of Brian Wilson, we are not just raising money; we are celebrating the mind behind some of the greatest harmonies in history
and ensuring that future generations have the support they need to combat neurodegenerative diseases.”
The initiative has already begun garnering support from local community hubs and music organizations. Local businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities and individuals looking to join the walking team are encouraged to visit the official team page at: act.alz.org/site/TR?team_id=1055909&pg=team&fr_id=19889
