Five West Chester Area Elementary Schools Among 100 Best In PA: Study
Impressive news for the West Chester Area School District as the 2017-2018 school year gets underway.
WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester School District had an impressive showing in a new ranking of the best elementary schools in Pennsylvania.
The ranking, done by information analysts Niche.com, was based on "rigorous analysis" of key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education, as well as reviews from students and parents, the website said.
East Bradford Elementary led the way in 74th, followed by Fern Hill (80), Mary C. Howse (81), Westtown-Thornbury (92), and Exton (100).

Ranking factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district, according to Niche.com.
Tredyffrin-Easttown's Hillside Elementary (10) and Beaumont Elementary (11) led Chester County.

Nearby, Montgomery County was led by a slew of Lower Merion School District elementary schools, which took the top six slots in Montgomery County before Lower Gwynedd in the Wissahickon School District came in at seventh. Montgomery Elementary in the North Penn School District was eighth county-wide.
According to Niche, the best elementary school in Pennsylvania is Ithan Elementary School in the Radnor Township School District, which also finished in 16th place nationwide.
