Fundraisers Launched For PA State Trooper's Family: How To Help
Tens of thousands have already been raised to support Corporal Timothy O'Connor's wife, Casey, and their six year old daughter.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Fundraisers have been launched to support the family of fallen Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy O'Connor, who was killed in the line of duty in Chester County Sunday night.
A benefit on Help a Hero (details here) had already raised more than $66,000 as of early Wednesday afternoon. Funds are administered by the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association and will go directly to O'Connor's wife, Casey, and their six-year-old daughter.
"Corporal O’Connor’s dedication, courage, and commitment to protecting his community reflect the highest ideals of our profession," the O'Connor Help a Hero page reads. "His sacrifice will not be forgotten, and his legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the example he set for those who continue to serve. The law enforcement community stands united in mourning this loss and in supporting the family he leaves behind. Any donation to the family will be deeply appreciated."

A separate benefit, meanwhile, has been organized over at Meal Train (details here). That program had raised $48,735 in funds from 607 different donors as of Wednesday afternoon. Money is used to provide food directly to the family.

Dozens more have signed up for the program's "meal calendar," which provides food from specific local establishments to the family.

The 40-year-old O'Connor was shot and killed Sunday night while responding to a traffic stop in Honey Brook.
A viewing for O'Connor will be held Tuesday, March 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Downingtown. The church is located on 338 Manor Avenue.
The funeral will be held in the same location the next morning, Wednesday, March 18, at 11 a.m.
