Happy Jeans Day! Benchmark FCU Rewards Employee Giving with Jeans Day Fridays
Employees of a Chester County federal credit union make charitable donations for the privilege of wearing jeans to work on Fridays.
Benchmark Federal Credit Union grants employees at all three branches the privilege of wearing jeans to work on Fridays in exchange for a $10 monthly donation to a community charity. At the end of the year, the funds raised are given to a Chester County nonprofit. For 2014, $1,120 was donated to Lord’s Pantry in Downingtown, which has provided food, paper products and personal care items to families in need for more than 50 years. The 2015 recipient will be Home of the Sparrow in Exton, which provides housing and supportive services to homeless and low-income women who want to improve their lives and become self-sufficient. Past recipients have included Goshen Fire Department, Gary Smith Memorial Fund for Benefit of his Children, and Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund.
