Henderson Controls Haverford, 15-9

Katelyn Fay scored a hat-trick for the Warriors in the victory.

Henderson dominated a game that was never really close defeating Haverford 15-9 on Tuesday.

The Warriors jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Steph Aldrich banged home a shot with 14:36 left in the half.

Haverford would respond three minutes later with a pretty give and go to cut the lead to 2-1.

That’s the closest it would ever get with the Warriors scoring four unanswered goals.

Sophomore midfielder Morgan Daughetry scored two goals during the run.  The final came on a Warrior counter attack.

After Haverford missed a shot in the slot, the Warriors quickly countered up the field where a wide-open Daughetry scored with 6:46 left in the half.

The Fords would score again, but anytime they looked like they might mount a comeback Henderson would answer.

Just a minute after Haverford cut the lead to four Henderson put the ball in the net again making the score, 7-2.

Haverford would go on a run of their own scoring three goals in the last five minutes bringing the game within three.

However, Freshman Sara Laudermilch cut through the crease with just one second left in the half to give the Warriors an 8-4 lead.

At the start of the second half, Henderson got two quick goals from Katie O’Donnell to extend its lead to six with 22 minutes left in the half.

The star of the second half for Henderson was junior Katelyn Fay who scored three goals and dominated possession weaving in and out of the Ford defense.

Haverford cut the lead to five with 14:26 left in the game, but the Warriors went on to score three unanswered goals.

Fay led the Warriors with three goals and Daughetry finished with two.

The Warriors play again on Wednesday facing off against Downingtown East.
