Have you ever considered training for the extreme sport of mountaineering ? And if not,
have you considered why others do
it?
If you fall in either categories then stop in a new wellness
shop in town for a “meet and greet” with James Beckerich, a “local” well-known for his annual trips around the world, checking off his list of great mountains to climb.
On Friday, February 7th, he will focus the discussion on his
latest climbing expedition to Aconcagua Peak, the highest point in South America (and among the world's highest peaks after Mt Everest).
Beckerich will answer questions amid an ongoing slide-show of
his 24-day trip, which included what he calls “17 days of extreme
climbing and camping… without a shave or shower .”
The free evening will include refreshments and is designed to be a way to
network with like-minded adventurers.
A frequent lecturer with the Chester County Night School, Beckerich is
accustomed to addressing audiences comprised of the “curious and committed,” and speaks on topics ranging from choosing an outfitter and
training tips, to organizing gear lists and getting the right pre-trip medical tests.
