Jack McClellan Inducted into the Ches-Mont Hall of Fame
The longtime Henderson coach and teacher is inducted into the Ches-Mont Hall of Fame.

Jack McClellan made his first trip back to Chester County since retiring from teaching in 1985 as the newest inductee to the Ches-Mont Hall of Fame. Jack taught 12th grade English during his teaching career, and while mentoring the Henderson Boys basketball team his squads notched eight Ches-Mont titles. He also coached the baseball team for 12 seasons and won five league championships in golf. His overall record as basketball coach was an astounding 580 wins with just 191 losses.
It was not surprising, therefore, when the announcement was made that Jack had been selected as the newest WCASD member of the Ches-Mont Hall of Fame. Some of Jack's comments upon returning to the area revealed a bit of a surprise on his part regarding the school building he used to call home.
"Tuesday they showed me (Henderson) High School," Mr. McClellan said. "I felt like Rip VanWinkle. I couldn't believe how wonderful that school is now. I was debating whether to come but I am glad I did, just to see all the changes after 27 years."

Jack's daughter, Debbie McClellan Bunting, composed a letter in which she relayed the family's gratitude to the Ches-Mont League for the recognition her father is receiving, along with wishes of great success for HHS in the future. Certainly she was able to write about a remarkable tradition of successfully mentoring young men, and of winning.
"I never had losing season in baseball, basketball or golf," said Mr. McClellan.
