Joe Biden Commends West Chester Nonprofit
The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County received a personal commendation from former Vice President Joe Biden this week.

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County (CVC) received a personal commendation this week from one of the most visible former leaders of the United States as they sought to promote their upcoming gala.
Former Vice President Joe Biden recognized the work of the local nonprofit in a personalized letter.
"I would like to commend Chester County's CVC for the tremendous work your group does to treat and assist victims of crime," the letter read.

The nonprofit's Direct Services Supervisor, Ashley Coyle, said that the agency's staff are "overjoyed" at the recognition from Biden. Coyle had reached out to Biden for help in promoting their upcoming fundraising gala.
"His Uncle Joe-like approachability is what gave me the gall to write to him numerous times," she said.

CVC, located in downtown West Chester, has a mission statement of empowering victims of crime through a wide range of services, while also increasing awareness of the impact of violence through the community.
Coyle said that Biden's foundational work to raise awareness of sexual and domestic violence aligns closely with the goals of CVC.
