Little League, who is it really for?

This past season I had the unfortunate lessons of little league. The ESLL has posted their Championship Little League team for 2014. The picture if you notice shows that the kids are truly secondary in a sport that is provided for them. I had a great experience for a team that was run for the kids however, as the season went on, I quickly realized that the majority of coaches really care about how good the team performed for their coaching skills.  To say it was truly demoralizing is an understatement.

Game after Game, moment after moment, encountering coaches who were there for the benefit of themselves truly shined through.

This has to stop….. TO be a Little League coach is to teach kids, not use them for your own selfish gravitas.
