Malena's Vintage Boutique Hosts Grand Re-Opening Party
The long awaited unveiling of Malena's new location kicks off tonight 6-10 p.m. with one heck of a party and free parking

Not many Borough shops can boast the success of Malena’s Vintage Boutique. This treasure trove of vintage frocks, rocks and assorted ephemera celebrates its 9th anniversary in June. Owner Malena Martinez has garnered much acclaim for both her inventory, longevity and the incredibly stylish recent nuptials of she and husband Joshua Coyne.
Malena’s will turn nine in its new digs, a prime location on the corner of Church and Gay Streets. Formerly Rose and Bobbie’s Unique Boutique, the previous shopkeepers packed up when Bobbie’s career went in a new direction. Eager to snatch up the new space, approximately 300 square feet larger than her previous location, Malena is hosting a Grand Re-Opening fete for the books this evening.
In addition to live music courtesy of a jazz singer and guitarist, guests will be treated to the delectable wares of Dia Doce cupcakes. Dia Doce received national attention when their owner (and long time friend of Martinez and Coyne) won Cupcake Wars. Also in attendance will be Robot Mouse, filmmaker of the famed ‘guide to parking in West Chester’ video, and their cameras will be rolling to capture the excitement.

The new shop features endless possibilities for window displays, with an extraordinary maiden voyage being unveiled tonight. “I’ve been hoarding things for this event….lots of 1950s cotton dresses that you can just throw in the washer, with pockets, also Chanel bags, and tons of jewelry,” Martinez shares. The new location will also feature a jewelry case dedicated to baubles under $28, so the store really caters to vintage lovers of every pocketbook.
The Grand Re-opening will take place tonight 6-10 p.m., with FREE parking in the Borough in honor of Good Friday. The store will be opened tomorrow 11-8, and while they will close for Easter Sunday, they will typically have Sunday hours.
