Man Rams Cop Cars After Fleeing Scene Of Assault At Jake's Bar In West Chester: Police

As he tried to flee from arrest at Jake's Bar in West Chester, the suspect rammed into several police vehicles, police said.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A man wanted for assault and for ramming police vehicles as he fled the scene on Monday afternoon in West Chester was arrested, authorities said.

Matthew Kelly, 28, of Downingtown, now faces charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest, drug possession, and related counts.

A fight which was later described as a domestic assault was reported in the parking lot of Jake's Bar in West Chester at 2:22 p.m. Monday afternoon, police said.

When authorities arrived, Kelly hopped in his car and rammed several police vehicles as he fled the scene.

Police swiftly tracked him down and arrested him.

Kelly was previously wanted Delaware County Sheriff's Department for a probation violation.

He was arraigned Monday. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
