Man Throws Explosives In Chesco Convenience Store Before Carjacking: Police

The store went up in flames after the man, for reasons unknown, threw explosives at clerks, state police said.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A Chester County man threw explosives inside a convenience store before attempting a carjacking, state police said.

The incident occurred on Saturday, March 1 at around 7:38 p.m. at Squire's Pantry on 3375 Gap Newport Pike in London Grove.

The man, later identified as Augustin Cisneros-Bedolla, has been charged with attempted murder and numerous related counts.

It's not yet clear what motivated the attacks.

Cisneros-Bedolla entered the store and promptly threw two "incendiary devices" in the direction of store clerks, according to state police.

The two employees were unharmed, but the store went up in flames.

Cisneros-Bedolla then ran out and tried to carjack a victim outside the store, but was unsuccessful, police said. He then fled the scene.

Authorities caught up with Cisneros-Bedolla on Sunday, March 2 and booked him at Chester County Prison. He's also charged with aggravated arson, attempted robbery of a motor vehicle, attempted kidnapping, and more.

A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
