West Chester Moves to Repeal $1.2 Million Stormwater Fee (mychesco.com) — West Chester Borough Council is set to repeal its Stream Protection Fee ordinance on Wednesday, permanently ending a stormwater charge that once brought in about $1.2 million a year. That leaves a major funding gap for required stormwater work, likely to be addressed in the 2027 budget through options like higher property taxes, parking rates, or spending cuts. Residents can attend the 6:30 p.m. hearing at Borough Hall.

Chester County Home Prices Defy National Housing Slowdown (mychesco.com) — Chester County home prices are still climbing, with the West Chester–Exton–Downingtown corridor seeing median values around $580,000 to $665,000 and very tight inventory. For West Chester renters, one-bedroom apartments typically run $1,800 to $2,100, while larger rentals often top $2,400, reflecting how limited supply and higher mortgage rates are keeping both buying and renting expensive locally.
