Men's Golf Finishes 17th At NCAA Regionals
Austin Mann led West Chester's contingent with a 3-over 74 on the final day of the 2012 NCAA Atlantic & East Regional as the Golden Rams moved up one more place to finish 17th overall at Hershey Country Club's East Course.

Austin Mann led West Chester’s contingent with a 3-over 74 on the final day of the 2012 NCAA Atlantic & East Regional as the Golden Rams moved up one more place to finish 17th overall at Hershey Country Club’s East Course.
West Chester shot 972 as a team. The Rams’ 313 on Wednesday was the squad’s best round of the week.
Mann turned in the best score of the tournament for any West Chester player over the 54-hole event. He birdied the eighth hole en route to a 37 on the front nine. The freshman also posted a 37 on the back. He finished the 54 holes with a score of 237 and placed 55th individually.
Griffith Basehore signed for a 79 on Wednesday, birdied the eighth hole as well, and finished the tournament with a 251.
Eric Slawter, Ryan Fogel and Connor Lefever all carded an 80 on Wednesday for the Golden Rams. Slawter birdied five holes, including three on the back nine. He finished the tournament with a 245. Fogel shot a 250 over the 54 holes.
The East Region’s Wilmington (Del.) won the team title with a score of 910. PSAC rival Indiana (Pa.) was second with a 916 and Concord (W.Va.) was third with a 939. The East’s Post was fourth (942) and St. Thomas Aquinas was fifth (945). Those five schools advance to the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships in Louisville, Ky. at the NCAA Division II Festival next weekend.
Jacob Barge (Fayetteville State) and Ryan Thomson (West Liberty) are the two individuals advancing to the NCAA Championships individually out of the regional this week. Wilmington's Paul Tighe won the individual title with a 217.
