PA Brewery Advertises Dogs And Cats Up For Adoption On Its Cans
Take a look at the good pups and kitties that are looking for a home while enjoying a locally made adult beverage.
PENNSYLVANIA — Photographs of missing persons were once placed on milk cartons to help raise awareness. A Pennsylvania brewery is taking a cue from that old style.
Colony Meadery, based in Allentown, is working with two animal shelters — Chester County's Brandywine Valley SPCA and Delaware County's Providence Animal Center — to put pictures of adoptable cats and dogs on a special release of cans.
The images will appear on the "Rescue Mead" cans. Organizers said the idea was inspired by similar efforts undertaken by other breweries, such as Fargo Brewing Company and Motorworks Brewing.

“We were thrilled to be able to steal this incredible idea from the breweries who came up with it,” Colony Meadery CEO Greg Heller-LaBelle said in a statement. “We know seeing these faces on cans will help these good boys and girls find their forever homes.”
The cans will be available for purchase online here on March 16. They'll also be available for sale in person on March 20 at Colony Meadery, 905 Harrison St. in Allentown.
