Police Investigating Murder In Coatesville

A man was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the street in Coatesville Tuesday night. He was pronounced dead an hour later.

COATESVILLE, PA — Police are investigating a shooting death that occurred in Coatesville late Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. on the 300 block of Charles Street, according to authorities.

Cornell Thompson, aged 22, was found on the ground near Plum Alley and Concord Street suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

First aid was administered to Thompson and he was taken by ambulance to Brandywine Hospital. Physicians there pronounced him dead at 10:47 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Chester County Detectives at 610-344-6866.
