Aaron Burr is mean: Between a failed presidential run and a seccession attempt that would eventually lead to treason charges, Burr managed to shoot his political enemy, Alexander Hamilton, in a dual on July 12, 1804.  Hamilton just happened to be the father of the U.S. banking system, and the man who currently resides on the $10 bill.

Take That Canada: On July 12, 1812, the United States invaded Canada as part of the aptly named War of 1812.  The U.S. attacked Canada near what is now Windsor, Ontario.  The U.S. also invaded Canada during the Revolutionary War, although that time the U.S. moved through what is now Quebec.

Finally, some honor: On July 12, 1862, Congress authorizes the "Medal of Honor" to be distributed to soldiers deemed worthy.

No 'Satisfaction' to be had here: The Rolling Stones performed their first concert together as a group on July 12, 1962, at the Marquee Club in London.
