West Chester Police Log: Latest Incidents

Here's what's been happening in the borough lately.

Wanted: Police are searching for Black man with a blue jacket in the theft of a package in the 100 block of West Barnard Street. The incident was reported at 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to contact West Chester Police at 610-696-2700.

Arrests
Victoria Hope Christian, 22, of West Chester was arrested on a charge of drunken driving and related traffic offenses at 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West Market Street, West Chester. Police said Christian was stopped for driving without headlights. She remains free to await a preliminary hearing.
Michael Butler, 66, is in Chester County Prison after being arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and strangulation in an incident reported in the 200 block of West Market Street. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing. Further details were unavailable.
Akir Griffin, 19, of Norristown, was arrested on Feb. 9 on charges of intending to deliver prescription pills on the 400 block of East Gay Street. He is in Chester County awaiting a preliminary hearing.
Carlos D. Hernandez, 48, of West Chester was charged on Feb. 9 in the 100 block of North New Street and charged with illegal sale of a firearm. He is free on $10,000 bail awaiting arraignment. Police began the investigation in September 2019.
Bashire Jackson, 19, of Philadelphia was arrested on Feb. 9 in West Chester on a charge of intending to deliver cocaine and related offenses. He is in Chester County Prison awaiting a preliminary hearing.
