West Chester U. Suspends On-Campus Courses Due To Coronavirus
All courses for the remainder of the spring semester will be completed online, and campus residence halls will be closed.
WEST CHESTER, PA — Due to rising concerns over the spread of coronavirus, all face to face, on-campus instruction at West Chester University has been canceled for the remainder of the spring semester. Campus residence halls will also be shutting down.
Classes will not resume until March 30, and when they do, all work will be completed remotely. Faculty will spend the next two weeks preparing for online instruction for the remainder of courses.

There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus at the university, but the proactive step is being taken to protect the health of students, staff, and professors.
In addition, residence halls and south campus apartments are being closed, and the Office of Residence Life will be in touch with students individually to schedule a time to come back to campus and collect their things.

It's not yet clear what this means for university athletics.
Online courses will continue on a regular schedule, beginning March 16.
Advising and registration for the fall terms will also be completed remotely; more information on that is forthcoming.
All large public events scheduled at the university over the coming weeks have been canceled, including the 37th Annual Presidential Scholarship Community Gala.
On Tuesday, the eighth case of coronavirus was found in Montgomery County in a local student, along with the first in Philadelphia, bringing the Pennsylvania total up to 12.
