Wolfson Group hosts Ashbridge Groundbreaking Ceremony
PA Senator Andy Dinniman, West Whiteland Township officials and community celebrate Ashbridge Luxury Residential Apartments groundbreaking
PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA (July 23, 2019)— In 1996, Wolfson Group President Steve Wolfson approached officials at West Whiteland Township (WWT) with his dream to build a “walkable Main Street community.” Phase One of that dream—the commercial development known as Main Street at Exton—launched in 2000 and has since become a thriving retail and dining destination at the intersection of Routes 30 & 100, serving residents in and beyond busy Chester County, PA.
For more than 20 years, Wolfson kept that dream alive, and on August 6, 2019 he celebrated its full realization with Pennsylvania State Senator Andy Dinniman, WWT officials, architects, builders, engineers, bankers, and members of the community at a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase Two and Three: the Ashbridge Luxury Residential Apartments. Working closely with WWT, the new community rising at Main Street at Exton will feature recreational amenities including a new trail that will enable residents to walk or bike directly to the newly renovated SEPTA/AMTRAK train station, just a short walk from the development.
Congratulating Wolfson Group at the ceremony, Sen. Dinniman said, “This project helps us solve an economic development issue: how do we keep bright young people in Chester County? Ashbridge has been designed with millennials and older adults in mind. It’s a beautiful, amenity-filled, walkable community with dining and entertainment options right here. This is how we keep Chester County hot and prosperous—young people will want to live here.”

Pam Gural-Bear, Assistant Township Manager for WWT, added, “On behalf of the West Whiteland Township Board of Supervisors, we are grateful to Wolfson Group for partnering with the Township for more than 20 years as we worked together to develop our area’s economic vitality, connectivity, and walkability. Ashbridge is a wonderful development for our community.”
As he thanked Sen. Dinniman and WWT officials for their efforts over two decades to bring the project to fruition, along with lenders M&T Bank and Beneficial Bank, Wolfson noted that he was particularly proud of the renovation that will transform the historic Ashbridge House mansion into the center of social life for Ashbridge residents and the WWT community. Wolfson previously restored other historic buildings located on the adjacent property that now serve as retail establishments at Main Street at Exton. “It is important to me that we breathe new life into these historic buildings,” said Wolfson.
