โ€ข Benton man among eight indicted in federal meth, fentanyl conspiracy (northcentralpa.com) โ€” Several Wilkes-Barre residents are among eight people federally indicted in an alleged meth and fentanyl trafficking conspiracy that investigators say operated across northeastern Pennsylvania for more than a year. Local police, including Wilkes-Barre officers and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, assisted ATF in the case, and the charges carry potentially lengthy prison terms if the defendants are convicted.

โ€ข Luzerne County's proposed data center zoning ordinance amendment up for discussion Thursday (timesleader.com) โ€” Luzerne County's proposed data center zoning rules will be explained and opened for public discussion Thursday at a 2 p.m. Planning Commission meeting in the River Street courthouse in Wilkes-Barre. Officials are also advancing a rail line sale that could add excursion service from a Wilkes-Barre depot and are reviewing offers on a county-owned Union Street commercial building still listed for sale.
