Mayor George C. Brown announced today that the City of Wilkes-Barre has prepared requirements, documentation, and proposed agreements to implement the Mayor’s 9-Point Plan outlined for residents’ recovery from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. These proposed plans are required to be in conformity with the U.S. Department of Treasury’s regulations for the American Recovery Plan. Unfortunately, approval of those final regulations has been delayed from the original estimates by the U.S. Government. Final approval is now estimated to come in late September or early October. Although the City of Wilkes-Barre is ready to announce and initiate these programs, they must first be in conformity with the final regulations.
