NEPA Radio: Robert Hawk Named New Morning Co-Host At KRZ (blogspot.com) — Morning radio in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area is getting a shake-up as local native Robert Hawk joins 98.5 WKRZ's weekday show with Lissa Krahnke starting September 8. Audacy, which owns WKRZ and several other top stations in the Wilkes-Barre–Scranton market, currently leads local radio ratings, so listeners can expect Hawk's homecoming to be highly visible on the dial.
   

2. Randy Travis Announces New Album Same Old Way, Out November 13 (gratefulweb.com) — Randy Travis is bringing his More Life Tour to Wilkes-Barre's F.M. Kirby Center on September 23, giving local country fans a rare chance to see the legend live. The stop comes as he readies Same Old Way, his first album of all-new material in 18 years, featuring previously unreleased tracks recorded between 1986 and 2013.
   

3. Referendum petition to repeal Luzerne County anti-discrimination law is contested over deficiencies (citizensvoice.com) — Wilkes-Barre residents are among seven Luzerne County voters challenging a petition that seeks to repeal the county's new nondiscrimination ordinance, arguing nearly 9,000 signatures are invalid. The election board will review the detailed filing, which could determine whether the ordinance—covering employment, housing, education, health care and public accommodations—ever takes effect.
   

4. Local roundup: Mendola's late goal earns tie for WBA boys soccer (timesleader.com) — Wilkes-Barre Area boys soccer battled back for a 3–3 draw with North Pocono, capped by Johnny Mendola's last-minute penalty kick. A local sports roundup also highlights strong showings in regional girls tennis and golf, including play at Wilkes-Barre Municipal and courses around Northeast Pennsylvania.
   

5. Froggy 101 Has Tickets to Mohegan BrewFest! (audacy.com) — You can win tickets to Mohegan BrewFest coming to Mohegan Pennsylvania in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, September 12, from noon to 10 p.m. Froggy 101 listeners who are 21 or older can call in during The Doc Show next week for a chance at four mobile app-based tickets per winner.
