Luzerne County Council to Consider Resolution Opposing Flock Cameras (audacy.com) — Luzerne County Council, meeting in Wilkes-Barre, is weighing a resolution that would block Flock automated license-plate cameras and similar mass-surveillance systems from county-owned property and funding. The proposal, now under legal review, follows civil-liberties concerns and a suggestion to place cameras near ballot drop boxes, and is expected on the Sept. 22 work session agenda.
   

2. Pedestrian severely injured in Wilkes-Barre crash (citizensvoice.com) — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and Butler Street, prompting police to treat the area as a crime scene. The investigation closed part of the boulevard between Conyngham Avenue and Butler Street, causing significant delays for Wilkes-Barre morning commuters while officers determined whether charges are warranted.
   

3. Allied Services celebrates 50 years of National Rehabilitation Week (timesleader.com) — Wilkes-Barre residents might be proud to know Allied Services just marked 50 years of National Rehabilitation Week with a ceremony at its Meade Street skilled nursing facility, where Mayor George C. Brown presented a city proclamation. The event highlighted the nonprofit's local role in creating the national observance and featured Navy veteran and triathlon champion Timothy O'Donnell sharing his recovery story.
   

4. Bank+ Vine closes in Wilkes-Barre (citizensvoice.com) — A longtime fine-dining favorite, Bank + Vine on South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre has closed after six years, ending its run in the former South Side Bank building. The Friedman Hospitality Group thanked guests and staff, noting the restaurant's role in local celebrations while its other venues across the region remain open.
   

5. Miscommunication over meeting order delays two Wilkes-Barre zoning cases to Oct. 21 (timesleader.com) — Two Wilkes-Barre zoning cases for group housing on Madison Street and a 27‑unit apartment building on High Street have been pushed to a hearing on Oct. 21 after confusion over mandatory planning commission attendance. The Wilkes-Barre Zoning Hearing Board will now take up those projects, along with another group residence request, at 4:30 p.m. in City Council chambers at City Hall.
