1,300 Service Calls For Yardley Police

YARDLEY, PA —Yardley Borough Police Chief Joseph Kelly III has delivered his department's statistics for July and August.

For July, Kelly said there were 676 calls for service, two parking tickets, 83 traffic citations, two non-traffic citations, two motor vehicle accidents, and four arrests, including one for Driving Under the Influence.

For August, there were 647 calls for service, three parking tickets, 67 traffic citations, two non-traffic citations, six motor vehicle accidents, and three arrests, none for DUI, the police chief said.

Kelly provided the statistics to the Borough Council at its Sept. 3 meeting.

In other borough business:

• Borough Manager Paula Johnson said the budget process is "going on nicely" for 2025.
• Johnson said there were four Right To Know requests in August and no current appeals.
• Johnson said the borough was awaiting an acceptance letter from the DCNR to close out the longtime Mary Yardley Bridge Project. She said the borough was hoping to close the project out at the next council meeting with a final payment.
• The borough received seven zoning applications, Johnson said in her report to the council.
