$10K Credit Card Fraud, Thefts From Vehicles: Lower Makefield Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Two thefts from vehicles and an identity theft topped the criminal incidents the Lower Makefield Township Police Department released in its blotter for the past week.

FRAUD — 200 block of Ballytore Court, reported at 11:21 a.m. The complainant reported an unauthorized use of their credit card for $10,800.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE — 900 block of Overton Avenue, reported at 12:11 p.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $600 in cash from a purse.

May 24

THEFT — 900 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 6:03 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) forced entry into their shed and removed a dirt bike.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE — Unit block of Hillside Lane, reported at 3:15 p.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed credit cards from their purse. Their credit cards were subsequently used in Norristown.

IDENTITY THEFT — Unit block of Sandy Drive, reported at 12:18 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) changed their address on their investment account and fraudulently cashed a check for $1,387.37.

May 22

FRAUD —1400 block of Wheatsheaf Road, reported at 4:53 p.m. The complainant reported having issues with their printer and called who they believed to be Epson. The unknown male posing as an Epson employee installed malware on their computer after being given remote access.
