Mountain Oaks Road Targeted For Vehicle Break-Ins: Lower Makefield Crimes

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week, including numerous vehicle break-ins or attempts.

These are the criminal incidents:

Aug. 25

FRAUD:

• 100 block of Jay Drive, reported at 9:35 a.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) transferred $34,000 from their home equity account to their checking account, then transferred it to a Truist bank account in someone else’s name. An investigation is ongoing.
• 6500 block of Spruce Mill Drive, reported at 12:18 p.m. The complainant reported two unauthorized withdraws from their bank account in the amount of $210.12. Investigation is ongoing.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE — 14000 block of Cornerstone Drive, reported at 3:01 p.m. Police responded to the report of a stolen vehicle pinging in the area. A Toyota Camry stolen out of Philadelphia was recovered.

Aug. 24

TRAFFIC OFFENSE ARREST — Quarry Road and Lindenhurst Road, reported at 11:35 a.m. Police on patrol attempted to stop a motorcycle for violations. The motorcycle fled upon observing police. Further investigation led to the identity of the 19-year-old male driver from Holland. He admitted to fleeing and was taken into police custody for Fleeing & Eluding, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, and related charges.

THEFT — 5500 block of Spruce Mill Drive, reported at 12:35 p.m. The complainant reported that multiple checks totaling $3,000 were written out to a known person without their authorization. Investigation ongoing.

Aug. 23

ATTEMPTED THEFTS FROM VEHICLE:

• 1100 block of Irving Road, reported at 8:02 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) were captured on their surveillance camera attempting to enter unlocked vehicles in the area. Nothing reported missing at this time.
• 100 block of Mountain Oaks Road, reported at 9:30 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicles and rummaged through them. Nothing reported missing at this time.
• 100 block of Mountain Oaks Road, reported at 9:03 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing reported missing at this time.
• 100 block of Mountain Oaks Road, reported at 9:16 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing reported missing at this time.
• 100 block of Mountain Oaks Road, reported at 9:23 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. They attempted to open a second vehicle but were unable to gain entry to do it being locked. Nothing reported missing at this time.
• 100 block of Mountain Oaks Road, reported at 9:29 a.m. The complainant that reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it. Nothing reported missing at this time.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLE:

• 1000 block of Country Hills Road, reported at 8:18 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a bag with miscellaneous items in it. Incident caught on surveillance camera.
• 100 block of Mountain Oaks Road, reported at 8:53 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed loose keys and a bag of change. The items were later located on a neighbor’s property line.

TRAFFIC ARREST — Big Oak Road and Oxford Valley Road, reported at 9:29 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation led to the arrest of the 47-year-old male driver from Morrisville for operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock. He was taken into custody.
