300 People Turned Away At Morrisville Halloween Party: PD

The Morrisville Police Chief said many of the juveniles and young adults appeared Friday night from surrounding towns.

MORRISVILLE, PA — They appeared in the borough for a Halloween party on Friday but got turned away at the door. That left the Morrisville Police Department to deal with the "large gathering."

Morrisville Police Chief Rich Ciampa said police officers responded to the Delmor Avenue area around 8:30 p.m. Friday to find a crowd of about 300 juveniles and young adults who weren't allowed at the Halloween party, leaving some stranded.

Ciampa said the group included many people from surrounding towns who didn't have any transportation to return home. He said police officers remained for more than an hour to monitor the crowd until people found rides.

The police chief said there were no disputes among the crowd and that police officers did not report any weapons. Ciampa said there was one complaint of some minor property damage.

He said the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission and a Falls Township police officer assisted with the crowd control as well.

"Their efforts directly contributed to a safe and peaceful outcome for our community," Ciampa said.

The chief said that the police department will work with business and property owners to "reinforce expectations around accountability and help ensure situations like this do not occur again."
