6-Week I-295 Ramp Closure Starts Wednesday

The Taylorsville Road ramp closure is part of the Scudder Falls Bridge replacement project.

LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA — The Taylorsville Road on-ramp to Interstate 295 will be closed for six weeks starting Wednesday as part of the Scudder Falls Bridge replacement project.

The Exit 10 ramp, which carries traffic from Taylorsville Road onto I-295 West (the old I-95 South) toward Newtown and Philadelphia, will be rebuilt as part of the bridge project, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced.

If all goes according to plan, the commission said, the rebuilt ramp would open to traffic shortly after July 4.

While the ramp is closed, there will be a detour via the Scudder Falls Bridge and the Scotch Road interchange (Exit 73A) in New Jersey.

The Pennsylvania welcome center along I-295 West between exits 10 and 8 also will be closed to traffic. The closure will allow work crews to grade and pave along part of I-295 that has been cordoned off since August, when the traffic shift went into effect.
