81-Year-Old Man Waved Weapon At Others In Yardley: Police

Yardley Borough Police charged the Lower Makefield Township man with making terroristic threats for the incident on Monday afternoon.

YARDLEY BOROUGH, PA —An 81-year-old man has been charged with making terroristic threats after waving a weapon at people, police said.

Yardley Borough Police Chief Joseph Kelly III said police officers responded to the 10 block of East Afton Avenue at 3 p.m. Monday.

The police chief said that Yardley Borough Police and Lower Makefield Township police officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle leaving the area of East Afton Avenue.

Police said a man brandished a weapon toward others. A vehicle stop and investigation led to the man's arrest on Taylorsville Road and the recovery of the weapon.

The unnamed man from Lower Makefield Township was charged with terroristic threats, possessing instruments of a crime, simple assault, and reckless endangerment.

The man was arrested, processed, charged, and released. The matter is pending in court, the chief said.
