$9M In Grants To Fund YMCA Renovation, 2 Other Morrisville Projects

U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick secured funding for the YMCA, the municipal authority, and the school district in Morrisville.

MORRISVILLE, PA —The YMCA, municipal authority, and the school district are getting a combined $9 million in federal grants that will support its various projects.

Through the Community Project Funding Request process for the 117th Congress., U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-1) sought and secured $19.015 million for the projects in Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District, which includes all of Bucks County and a portion of Montgomery County.

Morrisville was among 13 Bucks County projects receiving federal funding under the bipartisan omnibus appropriations package passed by the U.S. House of Representatives.

As part of the funding, the Morrisville Municipal Authority is getting $4 million for the planning and design of a new wastewater treatment facility (WWTF). The project provides needed wastewater infrastructure to the borough. The authority had requested $2.7 million.

An $850,000 boost is coming to the Morrisville School District for its technology program project.

The Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology Innovation Program increases student achievement through the development and implementation of innovative instructional practices, curriculum revision, technology integration, the establishment of professional learning communities, and the growth of after-school and summer support programming.

This investment in technology learning will lead to better students and a better workforce for the future.

The YMCA of Morrisville is undergoing a branch revitalization.

The Morrisville YMCA is getting $4 million toward the project, double of what it requested.

In order to strengthen the Y’s programs, the branch is seeking a total renovation of its classrooms, windows, and roof, along with asbestos removal.

Renovations will allow the Y to improve the safety and quality of the facility, and uplift the children and youth. The Morrisville YMCA has early care, school-age, and summer camp programs.
