Attempted Burglary, Gas Poured On Building Top Lower Makefield Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department released its blotter of recent criminal incidents.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —An attempted burglary and someone pouring 15-20 gallons of combustible fluid all over a building were some of the criminal incidents recently handled by police.

June 13

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —Bluestone Drive and Tall Meadow Lane, reported at 2:40 a.m. The complainant reported toilet paper in trees.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY —200 block of Rock Run Road, reported at 11:18 a.m. Police responded to the report of a burglary in progress at the location. The homeowner reported hearing glass break and observing two unknown males dressed in black hoodies with yellow safety vests and gloves attempting to enter the residence via a basement window. They fled in a silver Chrysler Pacifica minivan with a NJ tag. The same minivan was observed on Pondview Ct. a short time later scraping stickers off the van and switching the license plate. The investigation is ongoing.

TOBACCO SALE VIOLATION —500 (599) block of Washington Crossing Road at Village Marker reported at 12:03 p.m. The complainant reported the sale of tobacco products to an underage person. Village Market cited.

IDENTITY THEFT —200 block of Parkside Avenue. reported at 12:51 p.m. The complainant
reported unknown person(s) opened a car insurance policy in their name.

June 12

RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 7:40 p.m. Loss Prevention reported a known woman committed retail thefts on May 6 and June 7. The same woman attempted to commit theft on this date but paid when confronted. An investigation is ongoing.

June 11

FRAUD —1300 block of Violetwood Court, reported at 10:31 a.m. The complainant reported
hiring Home Repair LLC to complete work on their residence that was damaged by a hail
storm. The insurance check was cashed, but the work has not been completed. The company has not responded to the homeowner’s attempts to contact them. An investigation is ongoing.

June 10

IDENTITY THEFT —800 block of Big Oak Rd., reported at 11:16 a.m. The complainant reported unknown person(s) used their information to open an online bank account.

SOLICITORS —Hudson Drive and Schuyler Road, reported at 6:10 p.m. Police observed a
damaged vehicle with its hazards on at the location and did a well check. It was determined the individual was soliciting for Sunny Mac without a permit. They were obtained to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.

June 9

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:

  • 1700 (1730) block of Langhorne-Yardley Rd. at Edgewood Café, reported at 6:57 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) poured 15-20 gallons of combustible fluid all over the building. The investigation is ongoing.
  • 2000 block of Polo Run Drive, reported at 11:47 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) scratched the windshields on two of their vehicles.

June 7

RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Rd. at Shop Rite, reported at 11:34 a.m. Loss Prevention reported retail theft in progress. The 49-year-old Lower Makefield Township woman was taken
into police custody for taking over $600 worth of merchandise without paying. She was arraigned by District Justice Kronnagel and released on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.
