Brush Fire Battled In Lower Makefield Township
The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company said a fire cut through a patch of stalks and brush on Tuesday afternoon.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Fire crews battled a brush fire Tuesday afternoon on Stony Hill Road.
The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company was dispatched to the area of 754 Stony Hill Road for a possible brush fire.
Fire crews found about a 75’ x 300’ area of brush and corn stalks on fire extending into the field.

Engine 80’s crew arrived and went into service with two forestry lines and a deck gun to slow down the extension.
Engine 0’s crew assisted with extinguishment and Newtown Rescue 45 was called in to supply water to the scene from a hydrant on Stony Hill Road.

The Lower Makefield Township Public Works Department assisted with bringing a front-end loader over from Patterson Farm to make a break in the field.
YMFC Fire Police assisted with shutting down the road. Crews were on the scene for about 1.5 hours.
