Bucks County Group Opens Property Solutions, a New Business Focused on Providing Home Modifications for Seniors

Property Solutions of Delaware Valley helps seniors and families with home maintenance, repairs and renovations seniors need to age in place

Getting older has always come with a unique set of challenges, but now, thanks to a new local business in Bucks County, finding ways to live comfortably and safely at home doesn’t have to be one of them. Julie and Neil Mack, along with Sam Chud, recently opened the company Property Solutions of Delaware Valley to help seniors and families with home maintenance, repairs and renovations seniors need to age in place.

Property Solutions specializes in providing a wide range of home modifications that can dramatically reduce the chance of injuries and allow seniors to remain in their homes safely and comfortably for years to come. Modifications can include altering flooring, changing door handles and door types, widening openings, adding lighting, changing furniture layout, moving light switches, building ramps, adding grab bars and railings, and much more. Property Solutions can also help prepare homes for market with repairs and renovations, if the family decides to go that route later. They offer free consultations and build custom plans for every client. Property Solutions, based in Yardley, serves Lower and Central Bucks areas.

“When we come in to meet with a family, we want to learn about what sort of challenges the person or people living in the home are facing and what their daily activities look like. Sometimes it’s bigger things, like needing a ramp, and sometimes it’s smaller things, like having shelves that are too high to reach. We’ll go through a whole house checklist and then we’ll sit down to talk about our clients’ needs, budget and then recommend the best solutions. We want to create a custom solution that works for their situation,” Julie said.

Prior to launching Property Solutions of Delaware Valley, Neil spent 30 years in construction and, for the last nine years, Neil and Julie have been working together as real estate investors. As they’ve worked to make smaller houses perfect for people who are downsizing or buying their first home, they’ve realized there was a need for a company that offered a full suite of home modifications, especially for seniors. Neil is now a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association of Home Builders and they launched Property Solutions early 2017.

Financial considerations can also play an important role in determining the right solution. With the cost of assisted living facilities, if someone wants to stay in their home near family and friends, renovating their home may also be a more cost effective option.

“Our key role is giving families peace of mind that their loved ones are in a safe and comfortable environment,” Neil said.

Property Solutions also offers property maintenance services, also specially designed for seniors, where they’ll come in periodically to check in to make sure the home is ok and make any necessary repairs or perform required maintenance.

In addition, Property Solutions is also working with other seniors focused businesses and have a partnership with Caring Transitions of Lower Bucks County, which offers downsizing, moving, resettling services and estate clearing for seniors and busy families. Plus they are working to build partnerships with other senior-focused organizations in a long-term effort to create a one-stop shop for seniors and families.

“Our goal is to bring to seniors someone they can turn to that will help them navigate the many options they have in deciding which living transitions is best for them. We will ensure that in Property Solutions they will have a trusted partner that will minimize the stress and ensure their complete satisfaction with their decision. That’s what we want to bring to the community,” Julie said.
