Canal-O-Ween, Carve-O-Thon Highlights Halloween In Yardley

The annual event starts Sunday with the carving of 450 pumpkins that will be illuminated along the Delaware Canal all next week.

YARDLEY, PA —For over 15 years, Canal-O-Ween has shined its spotlight on Halloween, illuminating the banks of the Delaware Canal with lit Jack-O-Lanterns.

The borough's annual event starts Sunday with Carve-O-Thon, in which over 450 pumpkins will arrive to be carved starting at noon, said Experience Yardley, the organization running the family event.

The main sponsor this year is the Yardley Borough Parks and Recreation Department, which is providing the pumpkins.

A photographer will be available for free pictures on the famous vintage red farm truck that is now outfitted with our Canal-O-Ween logo.

Several local businesses are providing Light the Night Sponsorships, and a Hospitality Table will be packed wth goodies from the sponsors.

Canaloween Official Vintage T-shirts will be available for sale —prominently featured at the
Commonplace Reader Bookstore in the next few days.

The cost is $10 for an official Canaloween T-Shirt - sizes XL - XXL - supplies are limited.

Canal-O-Ween is the annual week-long Jack-O-Lantern lighting, which sets the tone for Halloween in the borough.

Residents and visitors enjoy the beauty of the autumn season as they stroll along the Delaware Canal, getting to witness the creativity of more than 450 individually carved Jack-O-Lanterns of those who participated in the Carve-O-Thon.

The Canal-O-Ween stroll will take place from Sunday to Nov. 2.
