Canal-O-Ween Continues Through Saturday In Yardley
More than 450 Jack-O-Lanterns are on display along the Delaware Canal Townpath each evening for the rest of the week.

YARDLEY, PA —There's still time to take the stroll.
Canal-O-Ween continues through Saturday where residents and visitors can walk each evening and see Jack-O-Lanterns that line the Delaware Canal Towpath.
Each night, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the canal is a lighted path of "creative, whimsical, eye-catching and fantastical pumpkin carvings," said Elizabeth Young, president of Experience Yardley, which is holding the annual event from Afton Avenue to the Mary Yardley Bridge and adjacent field.

On Sunday, she said hundreds of people participated in Carve-A-Thon, where more than 450 pumpkins were carved using stencils, free hand and all manner of carving tools toddlers to seniors created something magical to share for those strolling the towpath this week.
Young said that each pumpkin that graces the towpath has a votive candle lit in each one.

Volunteer Chairman Rich Wayne said he was surprised with the turnout despite the rainy weather.
Experience Yardley Vice President Heather DiPrato and Board Member Victoria Rogers said the atmosphere was lively during the carving and evening stroll and thanked the 30 sponsors who provided the pumpkins, supplies, entertainment, and social media presence. A list of sponsors is available on the Experience Yardley website.
Young said the first night of the Canal-O-Ween stroll featured the BC Discoveries dance studio in Newtown to perform two choreographed dances under the Afton Ave Bridge.
She said the older girls did an amazing theatrical dance along the canal to "Thriller" and the younger girls danced to "Calling All the Monsters" with the canal lined with pumpkins.
Along the path, Tipsy Pose has drinks and T-shirts to purchase about halfway through the stroll, Young added.
On Tuesday, people can visit the Experience Yardley website and watch a video of the Carve-A-Thon and Canal-O-Ween highlights.
