Careless Driving Leads To Charges For DUI, Drugs In Yardley: Police
Yardley Borough Police reported two South Main Street incidents this week in which one vehicle was speeding and the other went into a ditch.

YARDLEY, PA —The Yardley Borough Police Department has reported its most recent criminal incidents, including a DUI arrest for careless driving and a drug arrest after a vehicle went off the road.
On Sunday, Dec. 4, police responded to the 100 block of South Main Street at 2:12 a.m. where an officer monitoring traffic spotted a vehicle traveling south at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes, Police Chief Joseph Kelly III reported.
The officer stopped the vehicle and charged a 35-year-old Yardley man with careless driving, speeding, driving to the left of the roadway, having an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and DUI offenses.

The suspect was processed and released and the matter is pending court, police said.
On Friday, Dec. 2, an officer was dispatched at 8:35 p.m. to a vehicle off the roadway into a ditch on the 200 block of South Main Street.

During the investigation, illegal drugs were found inside the vehicle, police said. A 21-year-old Brooklyn, N.Y., man was charged with one count of prohibited acts for possession of drugs and released. The matter is pending court, police said.
