Delaware Canal Lock Repair Underway In Yardley

YARDLEY BOROUGH, PA —Repairs to a lock along the Delaware Canal State Park are underway and will continue until further notice, borough officials said.

Borough officials said repairs to Lock 5 began on Tuesday.

Barriers are in place over each side of the causeway over Lock 5, which is located at Mile Marker 13.3 toward the borough's south end near the SEPTA railroad bridge.

Officials ask that no one should try to get around the barriers.

The D & L Trail Towpath will not be closed during the construction period.

During the recent Harvest Day, there was no water in the canal. Officials said that was due to some issues with canal construction around New Hope.
