Donation Drive To Benefit Makefield Women’s Association

YARDLEY, PA —They call it WranglerFest’22. And for four hours next Sunday, this free event geared toward family fun will also assist community charities.

The donation drive takes place at VFW Post 6393 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 30, at 1444 Yardley-Newtown Road with drop-off points at the VFW post and Venturing Crew 6393 booth.

Venturing Crew 6393 is partnering with the VFW to offer food trucks, Trunk or Treat and live music along with a Jeep Car Show with awards for best in class, best themed and others.

The items collected will be assisting the Makefield Women's Association's local benefactors that include a Women's Shelter, an After School Program for Youth and other local community groups, said Ken Hogan, BSA Venturing Crew 6393 advisor.

Items to be collected include:

• Household Products —Paper towels, toilet paper and dish/laundry detergent
• Adult Hygiene Products—Socks, toothpaste, tooth brushes, mouthwash, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, soap, body wash, brushes and combs
• Other—New bed pillows, diapers, wipes, baby formula, baby food

Cash donations will be used to acquire the above items, organizers said.

BSA Venturing Crew 6393 is a co-ed BSA Scouting Unit for ages 14-21.

The Crew plans and participates in activities that include camping, kayaking, canoeing, backpacking, rock climbing and will be sailing around the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2023. The Crew also enjoys events like bowling, concerts, shooting sports and more.

In addition to doing their own fundraising, the Crew does a great deal of Community Service that has included restoring State Park grounds, Conservation Projects and a Donation Drive that is in progress, Hogan said.
