Fake Special Agent Led To $25K Fraud: Lower Makefield Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents for the past week.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A fake agent was one fraud case among the Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released in its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

THEFT —1500 block of Polo Run Drive, reported at 9:16 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown man jumped the maintenance fence and stole a six-foot ladder. The incident was caught on surveillance. An investigation is ongoing.

IDENTITY THEFT —1700 block of Grandview Drive, reported at 12:26 p.m. The complainant
reported an unknown person(s) used their information to access their bank account and
removed $10,000.

Aug. 20

IDENTITY THEFT —1700 block of Grandview Drive, reported at 1:05 p.m. The complainant
reported an unknown person(s) stole their identity.

THEFT —1400 block of Wheatsheaf Road, reported at 4 p.m. The complainant reported that someone stole a check from their mailbox, altered it, and cashed it.

Aug. 19

FRAUD —900 block of Greenway Avenue, reported at 7:23 p.m. The complainant reported sending an unknown person $350 for a Penn State Football season pass but never received the ticket.

Aug. 18

RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY ARREST —Route 1 and Oxford Valley Road, reported at 11:36 a.m. Police on patrol received an LPR alert for a stolen vehicle. A felony car stopped was conducted and the 53-year-old man from Trenton, N.J., was taken into police custody for Receiving Stolen Property and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He was arraigned by District Justice Peranteau and released on $30,000 unsecured bail.

THEFT —1400 block of Kathy Drive, reported at 11:46 a.m. The complainant reported the theft of
package from the front porch.

Aug. 17

ACCIDENT & DUI ARREST —Washington Crossing Road and Stoopville Road, reported at 3:52 p.m. Police responded to the report of a two-vehicle accident at the location. Further investigation led to the arrest of the 44-year-old female from Newtown for Driving Under the Influence.

Aug. 16

FRAUD —2700 block of Lynbrooke Drive, reported at 10:30 a.m. The complainant reported
someone claiming to be a special agent with the FTC called them about an Amazon order. The victim stated they did not make a purchase. They were advised to withdraw $25,000 from their bank, put it in a box, and provide it to someone who would be coming to their house to resolve the issue. An unknown man came to the house and the box of money was handed to him. An investigation is ongoing.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —200 block of Aspen Road, reported at 1:23 p.m. The complainant reported their Ring camera captured a neighbor damaging their lawn sign. The 23-year-old Lower Makefield man was cited for criminal mischief.
