Flatbed Trailer Stolen, Carjacking Top Lower Makefield Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The Lower Makefield Township Police Department handled numerous incidents this past week in its police blotter released Friday.

These are the criminal incidents:

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —500 block of Washington Crossing Road, reported at 10:58 a.m. The complainant reported the theft of a flatbed trailer sometime within the past week.

IDENTITY THEFT —Unit block of Edgewood Road, reported at 2:48 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) opened a credit card in their name.

ATTEMPTED FRAUD:

  • 900 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 4:10 p.m. The complainant reported receiving a phone call that their daughter was involved in an accident and needed bail money. The complainant recognized this as a scam and did not give their information.
  • 900 block of Summerville Way, reported at 6:20 p.m. The complainant reported answering a job posting online and was sent fraudulent checks.

Dec. 3

CARJACKING/STRONG ARM ROBBERY —700 block of Stony Hill Rd., 1:31 a.m. A man pulled the victim from his vehicle and repeatedly struck him in the head. After assaulting the victim, the suspect stole the victim’s vehicle and drove away. The suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody after a short pursuit and foot chase. The victim positively identified the male suspect as the one who physically assaulted him and stole his vehicle. In addition to having outstanding warrants out of Bucks County, the suspect was charged with Robbery, Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury, Aggravated Assault, three counts of Criminal Mischief, Tampering with Property, and
Receiving Stolen Property.

RECOVERED STOLEN PROPERTY —Mirror Lake Road and Ginko Lane, 12:16 a.m. While in the area for an attempted vehicle theft, police came upon a Hyundai Sonata that had been run aground along the grassy area. Inspection of the vehicle showed that the ignition lock had been forcibly broken. Believing this vehicle to be stolen and connected to an earlier attempted theft, it was impounded by police for further investigation. Drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle.

ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFTS:

  • 700 block of Stony Hill Road, 1 a.m. Police responded to the report of an attempted vehicle theft in the parking lot. Upon police arrival, they observed a Kia Forte with its driver-side window broken and the steering column removed.
  • 1500 block of Harvest Drive, reported at 12:11 a.m. Police responded to the report of an attempted vehicle theft in progress. The victim heard their car alarm sounding, looked out the window and saw a white male sitting in the driver’s seat of their vehicle. When confronted, the suspect fled on foot. Investigation revealed the driver’s side window was smashed and the steering column was stripped. A $100 bill was also taken from the vehicle.

SUSPICIOUS PERSONS —1100 block of Randolph Drive, 8:01 p.m. A female victim reported being followed by an unknown male wearing a baseball cap as they were driving through the Yardley Hunt development. When she arrived home, the vehicle stopped in front of her residence. The homeowner approached the vehicle and confronted the driver. The male driver stated he was going home, then drove away. The vehicle is a 2017 White Acura, Pennsylvania registration: LGT-5154. The registered owner is a male who lives in Philadelphia. Anyone who may have seen the suspect vehicle in the area is asked to call LMT Police at 215-493-4055.

Dec. 2

ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT —1600 block of Stapler Drive, 11:59 p.m. Police responded to the report of a Kia Optima with its driver-side window broken out, the steering column stripped, and the ignition punched. Further investigation revealed three credit cards were stolen from the vehicle.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE —1600 block of Stapler Drive, 11:59 p.m. The complainant reported their Hyundai Sonata had its driver-side window broken out. Nothing was reported missing. Another vehicle parked directly behind the Hyundai also had the driver’s side window broken and credit cards stolen from the vehicle.

WANTED PERSON —Unit block of Oxford Valley Road, Shell Gas Station, 8:30 a.m. Police stopped a vehicle for motor vehicle violations. During the investigation, police found that the driver had a suspended driver’s license and the driver’s daughter, a 27-year-old woman, was wanted out of Philadelphia for Aggravated Assault with a Knife. The woman was taken into custody and turned over to the Philadelphia Police Department.

BURGLARY —1600 block of Thistlewood Drive, 6:03 p.m. The victim reported that someone
approached their front door and covered the doorbell camera. Subsequently, the house alarm was activated. When the police arrived, they found the front door forced open, a bedroom door forced open, and a set of muddy footprints leading to the basement. A police K-9 was deployed to clear the residence, but no suspect was located. Police canvassed the neighborhood for possible video footage and observed a white sedan that may be involved. SUSPICIOUS PERSONS —900 block of Summerville Way, Prickett Preserve, 11:01 p.m. Report of a suspicious vehicle occupied by two males who had their faces covered as they drove through the shopping center area. Detectives are culling possible video cameras in the area. The vehicle was a blue sedan with a tag of A75AJM, no state.
