LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A fire destroyed the garage of a home in the Yardley Hunt development on Monday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company and mutual aid companies responded to a possible house fire in the Yardley Hunt development.

Fire crews arrived to find smoke showing from an attached garage.

Newtown Rescue 45, Northampton Engine 73, and Middletown Engine 244 had just finished up at a rescue call in the Newtown Industrial Park and responded to assist, fire officials said.

Rescue 45 went in service with fire extinguishment while Engine 73s crew checked for fire extension inside the house and Engine 244s crew assisted with opening up the roof for ventilation.

Morrisville Engine 98, Langhorne Engine 22, Fairless Hills Ladder 31, and Levittown Rescue 32 were on the scene assisting with manpower and various assignments.

YMFC Fire Police assisted with traffic control while operations were being conducted.

Quick actions by the fire companies along with the interior doors being closed resulted in the fire being contained to the garage with minimal smoke damage to the inside of the home, fire officials said.
