Garden Of Reflection Ceremony To Honor 9/11 Victims
A ceremony Wednesday morning in Lower Makefield Township will read the names of 18 Bucks County victims who died in the Sept. 11 attacks.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —On Wednesday morning, the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks on America will be remembered on the 23rd anniversary of that tragic event that killed 18 people from Bucks County.
The memorial ceremony at the Garden of Reflection on 1950 Woodside Rd. begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Eighteen victims from Bucks County —including nine from Lower Makefield Township —were among the attacks on The World Trade Center in New York City, The Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and an open field in Somerset County.

Those include Victor Saracini, who was killed when United Airlines flight 175 he piloted was highjacked and flown into the World Trade Center. His wife Ellen works tirelessly year-round on an annual 5K and other events to raise money to support the memorial.

This year, there will not be an evening service.
Following the morning ceremony, participants will be invited to visit The Garden of Reflection Memorial.
There will also be the 21st running of the "Garden of Reflection 9/11 5K," to take place on Sunday. The race begins at the memorial and goes through nearby neighborhoods.
The day-of-race registration opens at 8 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. Pre-registration is $35, while race-day registration is $40.
The 5K run/walk raises money for the endowment to preserve the memorial for future generations.
The Garden of Reflection 9/11 5k has raised more than $200,000 for the memorial over the past 20 years.
